Distinguished Alumnus: Mike Niconchuk '07
Yesterday, St. John’s Prep welcomed Mike Niconchuk ’07 to campus as he was ushered in as the 2023 Distinguished Alumnus. Mike is a neuroscience researcher and author, currently serving as the Program Director for Trauma & Violent Conflict at Beyond Conflict, a non-profit non-governmental organization headquartered in Boston that applies brain and behavioral science to the design, promotion, and execution of new tools and programming that reduce conflict, increase tolerance, and facilitate positive social change. Mike spoke with students, had lunch with High Schoolers involved in Model UN and MACD, and accepted his award in a ceremony held in Kennealy Commons.
During the evening reception, family, friends, and the Prep community came together to recognize Mike's important work across the globe. The evening capped off with a performance by St. John's own a capella group, Swingtown! An alumnus of Swingtown!, Mike joined the group on stage for "A Change in my Life", which was his solo while a student at the Prep.
