Shakespearean Love Sonnet Day!
Keep Calm and Read Shakespeare! Teacher Eric Kimble '85 devised a novel assignment for his freshmen English classes, asking them to write a love sonnet to a young woman. The catch is that they have to recite their quatrains, in person, to Mr. Kimble's 18-year old daughter Sara, who for the past three years has gamely agreed to come to his classroom and listen intently to these expressions of love. Delivering their lines to a real, live, breathing young lady makes all the difference to understanding someone else's perspective, says Mr. Kimble. And it certainly makes for an entertaining English class! Perfect way to end the week on a dress down day Friday! #youngromeosRead More
